Other RAMM Products
As well as the most-used tools in the RAMM Suite (here), there is a group of quite specialised tools. There is Dynamic Segmentation, MetroCount Import, Pavement Rating, RAMM Applications, RAMM Detail, RAMM Graphs, RAMM Manager, RAMM Network Manager, RAMM SQL, and Work Selection.
Check them out below. You may be surprised.
RAMM API is a Web Service API that allows RAMM Asset and Dispatch data to be read and in many cases modified by externally developed software. This means that your IT department can develop applications specific to the way that you do business.
Learn more about it here.
Treatment Length Dynamic Segmentation divides your Roads into recommended Treatment Lengths. It does this based on options and value bands you have set. You compare the recommended Treatment Lengths with your existing Treatment Length set. If you prefer the recommended set to the existing set, you apply them to your network.
Read more about it here.
MetroCount software is used for vehicle counting and classification. New Zealand RAMM users who also use the MetroCount Traffic Executive software (supplied by MetroCount) need files in order for the data exported from the MetroCount software to be in a format suitable for import into RAMM using MetroCount Import. The files are available for download here.

The Pavement Rating Asset Type enables length-based Assessment of Pavement. Inspectors record the severity and extent of Road Conditions. These extent ratings vary from one (1) being the optimum to five (5) being sub optimal. These Rating data are collected using arbitrary lengths based on where the Condition of the Road changes.
The data entered into RAMM and Summarised to Treatment Lengths are used in the dTIMS and RAMM Works Selection process.
You use RAMM Graphs to display your RAMM data in graphical form. Inventory, condition and other details display in a variety of formats. Condition graphs are useful for Pavement Rating Assessment. For a condition item such as Roughness, you select the parameter which you want to summarise such as NAASRA average or length and the category and sub category for display.
You can configure the graph to display for one road or for all the roads in your network combined.
You use RAMM Manager to set up lookups, to maintain staff permissions, to run processes such as Status Check, and to run reports. RAMM Manager is also where you set the initial parameters for your RAMM database such switching Traffic Count Estimation on or off. You also use RAMM Manager to create your User Defined Table (UDTs).
You use UDTs for your assets which are not in the standard RAMM asset set such as bus shelters and intelligent traffic systems.
RAMM Network Manager
You use RAMM Network Manager to manage the details of your network and in particular, the road centre lines. It helps you automate tasks and perform complex network management actions. For example, you can reverse a road with a single press of your mouse. When you apply this change RAMM Network Manager will update all relevant tables within the database.
It also has a graphical display which displays current and historical views of the changes you are making.
Power users of RAMM use RAMM SQL to manipulate RAMM data using SQL (Structured Query Language). It is a very powerful tool for users who have a detailed knowledge of the RAMM database structure. Your staff permissions for the front-end applications such as RAMM, RAMM Contractor, and RAMM Manager do not flow automatically to RAMM SQL which is a back-end application.
Staff permissions for RAMM SQL must be specifically granted. Users have no RAMM SQL permissions by default.
You use Works Selection to plan your programme of works for your network. You generate a programme of recommended Treatments and Treatment Costs by creating a Scenario. This is based on your current Condition data, traffic volume and level of service parameters which you set. You can create Scenarios for as little as the next twelve months or for the next twenty years.
You can then view, report, prioritise, graph and accept or decline the projected Treatments, Treatment Costs and the Condition data.
RAMM Hosting Service
The RAMM Hosting Service allows you to run our software without installing or maintaining it on your PC or server, using a standard Internet browser and connection.
The recommended web browser is Chrome.
We are very specific about what we will do for you. Check the details here.
