RCI Index

Road Construction Index (RCI) Values

The Road Construction Index (RCI) is a value that is used to factor Maintenance Activity values to a certain date. You use this to compensate for cost inflation so that when you are comparing Maintenance Activity cost prices the comparison is more meaningful.

How is the RCI Calculated

How is the RCI Calculated

The RCI value is calculated using the latest Maintenance index when looking at the Infrastructure Cost Indices in the NZTA Procurement manual. The reason the RCI value is expressed as an integer in the thousands (e.g. 1804) is that the original RCI value used in RAMM was 1000 and the calculations in RAMM reflect this.
